After Edna comes back as surprisingly as she did when she disappeared, Kay is afraid her mother seems unwilling or unable to say where she is fleeing Sam’s impossible desire to return to Grandma. As Edna’s behavior becomes more complex and unstable, they both begin to realize that underneath her may be an obvious presence.
